Regional meeting on ~Ac??Avisa issue~Ac?? Print E-mail
Wednesday, 24 October 2007

The Citizens' Pact for SEE  with The European Stability Initiative (ESI) has formed think-tank, group of young independent researchers. Now, think-tank is working as  analytical part of CP for SEE. The Citizens~Ac???c Pact for South-Eastern Europe has organized  the regional workshop that took place in Novi Sad (Serbia), on 19 ~Ac??? 21st October 2007. The two-day workshop was organized by the Citizens~Ac???c Pact with consultancy by and coordinated with ESI. Apart from members of think-tanks in the Western Balkan, representatives of national and regional/European organizations were invited as lecturers and participants to the regional workshop as well.

Participants of the workshop were members of think-thanks cooperating with and supported by ESI in Skopje, Tirana, Sarajevo, Prishtina and Novi Sad.

This workshop was a thematic meeting and served as kick off for a regional Western Balkan research on visa regimes. Goal was to bring young researchers from the Western Balkans together and to link up young researchers from Western Balkan countries and create a network and regional cooperation on issues of joint interest.

The meeting helped to initiate joint coordinated action among groups in the different countries to work on visa abolishment to the European Union. Informal ~Ac??Awhite list group~Ac??? is formed witch will gather information and start regional research.

We believe that  the issue of the EU visa regime needs a broader initiative, which can be best realized through regional cooperation. A comprehensive, regional (WB) research on the exact situation concerning the ~Ac???Black Schengen List~Ac???c-countries and a roadmap for the acceleration of the process of visa liberalization, should be the logical next steps.
