European Commission and Delegation of Serbian Government agreed on free visas for some categories of citizens
After the yesterday~Ac???cs meetings in Brussels, Director of European Integration Office of Serbian Government Tanja Miscevic said that some categories of Serbian citizens will enjoy visa facilities within agreement that will be initialed at the beginning of April.
Agreement will be signed in September and come to effect at the end of this year, together with agreement on readmission.
Categories of citizens, beneficiaries of visa facilities are business people, government employees, students, graduates, experts, university professors, and some other professions such as lawyers and doctors, persons who need medical treatment in EU and representatives of communions.
Brussels 03/03/2007: The European Liberal Youth - LYMEC - conference organized on March 1st in the European Parliament with the support of the ALDE group was focused on the topic "No visa. Europe is our home". Almost one hundred participants attended the event and examined the visa facilitation prospects for citizens of European countries not yet members of the EU. Speaking at the opening of the conference, Roger Albinyana i Saigi, LYMEC President said: "One of the basic and fundamental rights that we as liberals strongly believe in is the right for individuals to move, both socially and geographically. We need a Europe close to citizens, a Europe which enables citizens to move around, to seek new opportunities, to create."
On 13th February, as a part of international visa liberalization campaign, European Liberal Youth organized a street action ~Ac??ANo Visa ~Ac??? Europe is our Home~Ac??? in more than twenty European countries.
The Citizens Pact for SEE joined the protest in Belgrade in front of the Austrian embassy where young activists have promoted the campaign. At open panel that took place the day before, speakers agreed that insisting on visa facilitation is important, but the governments of Western Balkan countries must comply with all terms of EU such is concluding readmission agreement and other measures to get off the EU visa black list.
