In July, at the EXIT 06 festival the Citizens~Ac???c Pact held a discussion called ~Ac??AMyths and Legends about the Schengen White List ~Ac??? When Will We Travel Like Normal People?~Ac??? where one of the participants was the European Union Enlargement Commissioner, Ollie Rehn.
Member of the European parliament Jelko Kacin took an action in order to urge European Council to approve visa facilitation mandates for Western Countries. If the mandates won~Ac???ct be approved before Christmas, visa fees will temporarily rise to 60 euro. In his article published this week in Skopski Dnevnik Mr. Kacin says:~Ac??? Only two decades ago, Yugoslavs were able to travel freely anywhere within the European Community with their ~Ac???red passport~Ac???c. The EU is engaging in a counterproductive policy by imprisoning the Western Balkans behind the virtual Schengen Wall.~Ac??? He is just preparing amendments that should, among other things, strengthen paragraphs in on visa facilitation in a one of the following EP resolutions. Writing about the visa issue in his article published last October in International Herald Tribune, Mr. Kacin underlined that ~Ac??AThe long - term goal, however, must be to abolish visas for neighboring countries, and the short-term goal to make the visa procedures cheaper, faster and simpler.~Ac??? On the November 30 Mr. Kacin will host ALDE (Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe) visa seminar in Brussels where Commissioner Franco Frattini will be one of the speakers.
